About us
Ancient Gate Press
Ancient Gate Press is a publisher devoted to works of the Jewish tradition: Kabbalah, ethics (mussar) and spirituality. It publishes bilingual Hebrew–Spanish editions, with the fully vocalized Hebrew text, translation and notes.
The name
“Ancient Gate” takes its name from a midrash:
“Open for Me an opening of repentance like the eye of a needle, and I will open for you openings through which wagons and carriages can enter.”
Principles of our editions
- Fully vocalized Hebrew text, alternating with the translation.
- Translation made from the Hebrew, with notes and a glossary.
- Terminology and register proper to Jewish editions.
- The original works are in the public domain; the translation and the notes are the contribution of the edition.
